UAE travel: Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia issue flight advisories amid unsettled weather
Passengers advised to confirm bookings before heading to airports
DUBAI/ABU DHABI – Air travel across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is operating under revised conditions as unstable weather continues to affect multiple regions between March 23 and 27.
Airlines are maintaining limited schedules while prioritising safety, with passengers advised to check flight status, allow extra travel time and avoid heading to airports without confirmed bookings.
Carriers across hubs in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are adjusting operations in coordination with authorities, as rain, strong winds and reduced visibility impact both flight schedules and airport access.
Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways is operating a limited commercial schedule from Abu Dhabi to selected key destinations following safety assessments. Passengers are being accommodated on available flights, while tickets remain open for booking via official channels.
Travellers are instructed not to proceed to the airport unless they have a confirmed booking or have been contacted directly by the airline. All other scheduled commercial services remain suspended for now.
Flexible policies are in place for tickets issued on or before February 28, 2026, for travel between February 28 and April 15. These can be rebooked free of charge up to May 15, or refunded via the airline’s website. Additional destinations are expected to be announced as conditions improve.
Emirates
Emirates has issued a travel advisory for passengers flying through Dubai, warning of potential delays due to adverse weather.
Travellers are advised to arrive at least two hours before departure, check flight status online and ensure their contact details are updated. The airline continues to operate a reduced number of flights as part of a flexible schedule.
Passengers are offered options to rebook travel up to May 31, request refunds online or coordinate changes through travel agents.
flydubai
flydubai has resumed operations on a limited schedule, warning that unstable weather conditions may affect flights arriving and departing from Dubai.
The airline has advised passengers to travel only with confirmed bookings, check flight status regularly and update their contact details. Flexible options include rebooking within 30 days or requesting full refunds through the Manage Booking system.
Air Arabia
Air Arabia is operating selected routes from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah until April 15, 2026, as part of a reduced network.
Destinations currently served include Vienna, Dhaka, Cairo, Addis Ababa, Athens, Mumbai, Delhi, Milan, Istanbul, Riyadh and Bangkok.
Passengers affected by cancellations can opt for one free date change within 30 days, receive a credit voucher or request a full refund. The airline has reiterated that travellers should check flight status, update contact details and avoid heading to the airport without confirmation.
